Photo-Essay - Urban legend. The Beast of Lincoln Way.
Lincoln Way is in the city of Clairton, Pennsylvania. This dead end street lies between a secluded ravine and
located on a busy highway across from the ore yards of the USS Clairton Works. Lincoln Way was once comprised of sixteen houses that were abandon for many years and some as early as the 1970's. A few people
were still living there in 2004.
As the Urban Legend goes; the inhabitants of Lincoln Way were frequently visited by a hairy beast with sharp claws and blood red eyes. This beast would come out at dusk to kill family pets, tearing up gardens, howling and scratching at the outer walls of the houses.
It seemed that some residents moved out in a hurry leaving behind houses filled with furniture, clothing, a car, and dinner plates still on the table. I've seen photographic evidence verifying that fact. Those items were long gone before I photographed Lincoln Way in 2015. What I did discover was vandalized, graffiti painted, burned out and dilapidated vacant structures. But there were a few things on this so called haunted street that were quit disturbing.
